I'm sure there are thousands of them out there by now, but mine stands out because it's red.
The basic idea here is to start from scratch on Skyrim and document my journey through its vast, treachorous and glitchy expanses in as concise and humorous a way as possible. It goes without saying that there'll be spoilers, so don't read this if you haven't played the game. Or do. I'm easy.
(Just to be clear, I've already played Skyrim. Not all the way through, but enough to know that I could have done things better from the start.)
The first thing I need to decide upon is what race I'm going to be. There are 10 races taking all our jobs in Skyrim, and they've all been featured in previous Elder Scrolls games.
I'm going with an Argonian, because they look awesome, have a handy once-a-day racial ability called Histskin, which allows for rapid health regeneration, can breath underwater (useful for unmolested travelling, if I'm not in the mood for encounters) and boast a 50% resistance to poison as an added bonus.
The Argonian also starts with the following racial starting stats:
+10 Lockpicking
+5 Restoration, Alteration, Light Armour, Sneak and Pickpocket
It goes without saying, then, that I'm going to be a backstabbing son of a bitch through this playthrough, concentrating on the Thieves Guild and Dark Brotherhood questlines as well as following the main story. Of course, I'll also be hunting through any caves and buildings I come across to straight up steal everything of value from right under the occupants noses, before killing them in cold blood. No witnesses, no mercy.
Up until now, the only magic I've used is Destruction, so it'll be interesting to see how levelling the Alteration and Restoration trees work out for me, but to be honest, they'll be taking a backseat to the Sneak, Speech, Pickpocket and Lockpicking trees. Also, although the Argonian isn't naturally adept with Archery, it's going to be an invaluable tool when taking out targets from a distance. In the dark. While hiding behind a rock.
I'm really not one for confrontation.
I'm playing through this game on the Xbox, so screen shots etc. will be difficult to come by until I can sort out a recording method from Xbox to laptop. Until then, I'll maybe take some photos of the screen while I'm playing, if they don't look completely terrible.
Finally, no exploits. I'm well aware of the Speech and Blacksmithing exploits, that will allow me to level both up in no time (plus they latest bookshelf exploit that can just suck my balls), but that's just cheating and will ruin the whole point of this blog, which is to play through the game as it's supposed to be played.
Right, let's get started!***EDIT: I'm having some format issues with this blog. No matter how many times I try to fix it, my paragraphs are being forced into double-spacing. I'm working on it. ***
